I opened the latest issue of SF Magazine and looked in horror at this image of yours truly. I broke the number one rule of contributor photo etiquette. NO PICTURES OF PHOTOGRAPHER WITH, NEAR OR BESIDE A CAMERA!!NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
On the bright side I was a able to CR a little in the text with mentions of airplanes taken and Communication Arts appearances.

To really break the rule, you have to have the camera obscuring at least half your face.
Truthfully, I don't think you even broke the rule - you look like you're impersonating a photo assistant.
Isn't it fun how they just do that? I had a contribs photo printed of me with a camera on once (It wasn't inconspicuous, either). It was the first time I'd shot for this particular magazine, and it wasn't the shot I gave them to use, but somehow they found it anyway. Don'cha just hate the lack of control you have in those situations? I swear it's that 20 yr old intern in the comm department that is having a bad day and needs to take it out on someone. .... and you just got interned, buddy.
Nice. Next time we'll get you suited up in camo and you can hold the tripod over head. Maybe a little face paint. And the body of your assistant floating down the river behind you. "Tombo" :)

You have said that it takes effing up in order to learn, and that you've learned so much from getting in there and effing up. Let this just be another day in class... where we all learn.
