Family Photoday

So this photograph is profound and intense and shows these kids with all their similarities and differences in a real honest way.

Then I get confused when there is a joke about the kids being potentially inbred in the next post. Why confuse the message with this joke? It makes me confused as to whether you are taking this photo seriously or just seeing it as odd.

This is your photograph, you are proud of it, make no apologies when something says what you want it to. Great shot for sure.

I think the interesting thing about this photograph is that this is how kids "typically" feel on family photoday.

"I just want to jump back through the sprinklers; why do I have to stop so they can take my picture?"

I was also confused by the inbreeding comment, but I feel you on the trailer park vibe with the girls and their unkept hair and protruding tummies! I think the forced attention of the subjects on the lens is drawing me in.

I have a problem balancing commercial photography with personal work. The photograph of three of my daughters would never be an Ad but I still think it is compelling. The images of the my kids reading and at the computer are much more expected and approachable. By making the joke about the the kids parents being related I was trying to acknowledge this dichotomy. I was trying to say that I know that this (the image of the three of the kids ,) is not a commercial photograph and could scare off potential clients but I still like it.
