I like all three, but in order I would put jungle at first and 'shire' at second. Jungle pic seems to have the mystery that would call the viewer to spend a moment. The shire is a shot that folks may think they see, or have seen somewhere, and pass it by. it is a good shot, but requires a moment of contemplation. The jungle shot has the fog that demands the moment of challenge.

When thinking about a submission in a mag as full of images as Archive, one must use the full power of the image to capture the eye of a passive reader.

Just my buck3eighty...Donhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00960303867805884580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3570418979909525883.post-91988124984415486482008-10-02T08:07:00.000-07:002008-10-02T08:07:00.000-07:00The Presidio image is an interesting location, but...The Presidio image is an interesting location, but not a very interesting photo. It doesn't say anything. The group/family portrait also doesn't bring anything to the fore- it's been done and it doesn't speak to your skills or point of view. The Cal Academy shot is interesting because it draws you in- you want to know more about this person and this location. At the same time you're not sure if it's real or manufactured.

Go with the third image for sure.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
